Canon R8, RF 50mm f/1.8, RF 100-400mm. Seven months property-bound (September 2025–March 2026), learning wildlife photography through constraint and repetition. Autofocus failures. Wrong lens moments. Gradual improvement visible if you look at September versus December. Not expertise—documentation. Three months in, four to go.

Portraits, wildlife at close range, shallow depth of field. Learning to work within its limitations.

RF100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM
Telephoto for birds and distant subjects. Autofocus struggles documented. Getting better slowly.
